Missouri teens involved in collision with suspected drunk driver

Two teenagers were taken to a local hospital after suffering minor injuries in a car crash on Route B near Academy Road on June 29. A Kia being driven by one of the teenagers was reportedly hit nearly head-on by a Ford Ranger being driven by a 61-year-old man. According to police, the driver of the vehicle also suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The parties involved were transported privately to the hospital as both cars were towed from the scene of the crash. The driver who allegedly caused the crash was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving and assault in the second degree. There was no information as to where he was taken, if he was granted bail or if he was eventually released. There was also no information given as to the specific injuries that were suffered by either the teens or the man in the Ranger.

In car accidents that result in serious injury, those who are hurt may take legal action against the negligent driver. It may be possible to win reimbursement for medical bills incurred due to the crash.

It may be worthwhile to consult with a personal injury attorney who can pursue legal action against the person who caused the crash or additional parties believed to be partly responsible for the cause of injury. An attorney might be able to gather reports and evidence to demonstrate liability on behalf of their client. Any witnesses of the incident might able to able to testify in civil court.
